Yulara - Ayers Rock Resort

Ayers Rock Resort was established in 1983, after the environmentally-sensitive surroundings of Uluru (Ayers Rock) were becoming pressured due to the increasing number of visitors.

Both the airport and accomodations were relocated outside the Uluru-Kata Tjuta national park boundaries. At the same time, the resort was redesigned to minimize its impacts on its surroundings. For example, no building protrudes above the dunes and waste water is treated and used for irrigation.
